DX Atlas showing the approximate location of the team as they sail toward Freemantle (click image for a larger view)
Jan, ZS6BMN has reported that the team has been picked up on the WSPR beacon network in grid square MD87 – which means they must have set sail yesterday and are on their way home. I have not received a call or email – but I expect to do so soon and also the “Listen to Us” audio log should become active soon.
Taking down and packing the gear and setting sail are very strenuous, and I can only imagine the team was exhausted after doing so. Hopefully they will have plenty of time to rest on their long journey home. As soon as I receive any news – I will pass it along.
It looks like they are travelling through a storm – so that may explain the silence too. As they travel toward Freemantle things appear to get a lot nicer weather and sea condition wise.
73 and look forward to seeing you at Visalia. Most of the team will be at Dayton and some will also be at Friederichshafen,
Rich, KY6R
Will the “Track Us” page start updating soon? It still shows them on Heard with last update March 24.
Looking forward to working the team from the all-water grids. Here’s wishing the team & crew a comfortable and uneventful trip home.
If I had to guess – they might be in rough seas. I expect once they can – they will get the tracker running. Glad they at least have the WSPR beacon running!
