The team is scheduled to arrive in Freemantle. When they arrive they will have to go through a bio security inspection and then will have to unload and get the gear packed into a container. More work!
A huge thanks to Jan, ZS6BMN for these wonderful grid square reports – where Jan used data from the WSPR beacon and the DeLorme Tracker.
Before things get hectic again, I would like to thank the team for all they’ve done to make Heard Island available as an ATNO for me. I don’t think I’ll be around for the next expedition. And a special thank you to Rich, KY6R, for all the science and geography lessons about things I didn’t know before. Brian K9VKY
Thanks Brian, really appreciate it. 73, rich
As the VK0EK DXpedition comes to a close, I think its very appropriate to thank Rich, KY6R on a most outstanding job well done. He has kept us
abreast of every aspect of this DXpedition from stem to stern. He has provided a great deal of information including many charts and graphs before the DXpedition started as well as during the effort to help us get into the log. This entity has certainly been a challenge for hundreds, if not thousands of Amateur Radio enthusiasts throughout the world. Many didn’t make it and we are saddened that everyone who tried couldn’t log at least one contact. I’m sure that “Heard Island” is a cold and desolate place and had its challenges as well. But Rich, KY6R has done a fabulous job in keeping us totally informed and he deserves kudos and admiration as such. Best 73 to all from Alan, K6IPM.
Thanks Alan, it’s been my pleasure. 73, rich
Thanks for your efforts and some sleepless nights 🙂
