You can see in the bottom left corner – Grid Square MD07, and Heard Island in the lower right hand corner. Here is the WSPR Map – and we are seeing more spots – which is quite exciting:
I should get an update on their ETA – and remember it will be wind, waves and weather willing – and Skipper Matt of the Braveheart will ensure that their landing is safe. Then its GAME ON!
Worked ZL/ZS9HI/MM with a low hanging 2x10m dipole and 100W on 30m – great ears and patience – thanks to the OPs.
Take care

Safe landing and stay.
Good luck Bob and your team.

Thanks for the update, Rich! They are indeed very-very close to Heard Island now! Also my best wishes to the Team for a safe landing! It is so comforting to know that the Braveheart has such a highly experienced Crew! After landing the hard work is going to start. Good luck!
What a joy it was to accompany the Braveheart all the way from Cape Town – thanks to those marvels of modern science: DeLorme Tracker and WSPR!

WOW! I worked ZL/ZS9HI/MM on 15m cw with 450w and my HEX beam. I thought that was great…but…
Then on 40m cw I worked them with my KX3 station 10 watts and a Carolina windom….then for fun I cranked the power to 5 watts/QRP…solid contact.
Great op! Have fun & safe travels.
