The team has now crossed the “Tumultuous 50’s”, and in just days cross over the “Roaring 40’s” when they get to Heard Island. In the top left of this map is Crozet, and the French Southern Antarctic Lands is Kerguelin. Here is the latest tracker and Adam, K2ARB report:
Speed: 11.53 mph | Heading: E |
Elevation: 1.05 ft | Batt: Normal |
Lat: -50.029045 | Lon: 47.388346 |
And here is Bob’s audio log report:

Bob says:
- 3rd Argo buoy deployed and they have nice video which they hope to upload once they get to Heard Island and have the 4 BGAN’s set up
- 5000 QSO’s are in the log as ZL/ZS9HI/MM
- They have crossed 50 degrees south
- They are coming into a storm area with rougher seas
- They will update their ETA in a day or so – but still expect March 22 noon Heard Island Time
And finally, a really nice map:
