Mark, DO4DXA has posted a nice AudioBoom recording of the VK0EK Team heading toward the vicinity Marion Island (no, they won’t stop there or anywhere along the way to Heard Island).
The Tracker is no longer tracking – the batteries are reported as being low. However, at this time, the best news is that they are on the air and have been yesterday and today. This means they must have at least reasonable seas – else no one would care to operate. When all else fails – there’s ham radio!
Speaking of that – please QSL via the QRZ,COM address. They seem to ping pong between using the ZS9HI call and personal calls. I don’t know why – but as I said – please QSL via the QRZ.COM address. Our QSL manager is only handling actual VK0EK QSL cards.
